Mele Kalikimaka

It wouldn't be Christmas in Hawaii without wishing you a Mele Kalikikimaka! Written in 1949 by Robert Alex Anderson was made popular by Bing Crosby & The Andrew Sisters in 1950. But is always a favorite in the islands :)
Our Christmas Menu probably doesn't differ much from yours or from what might have been had in the '40s (if ham were available) We are about to have our main meal in just a little while. We're having:
  • Hawaiian Sweet Rolls with butter
  • Tossed salad with mixed greens
  • Sweet Potatoes
  • Macaroni & Cheese
  • Pumpkin Pie with Whipped Cream
  • Eggnog, Tea, Coffee, or Soda
Wish you were all here... it's in the mid-70s with strong Trade Winds. After our meal and a little 'nap'. We would get in the car and check out the 'city' lights in Honolulu and maybe be able to see the ships in Pearl Harbor all decked out for Christmas with lights. Well.... maybe someday. Now I've got to get back in the kitchen.
