The Women (1939)

George Cukor directs an all-female cast in this catty tale about battling and bonding between friends and enemies that was edgy for its time -- and is considered the ultimate women's movie of the 1930s. Norma Shearer, Joan Crawford, Rosalind Russell and other Hollywood leading ladies are among the array of husband-snatchers, snitches and lovelorn ladies who argue and gossip about each other at astonishing breakneck speed.

Birthday, Valentines, Love, & Friends

Sunday was my birthday and a week ago Iris had a birthday and next week is my step-daughter Jackie's birthday.
Yesterday the ladies blessed me with this beautiful orchid lei.

Iris gave me this lovely kukui nut lei with beautiful painted flowers. I am so blessed to be able to have a job that is challenging, interesting, and where people around me are so supportive of each other. Thank you Iris for my lei and for the WONDERFUL thermal glass & drink mix. I LOVE all of the goodies :)

And now, here is a special 'vintage' Valentine just for you all!!!

My First Vintage Knitted Baby Design

For about 6 years now I've been a successful knitted dishcloth designer. But now I'm trying my 'hand' at designing knitted baby wear that is based on vintage patterns from the 40s, 50s, & 60s. This is my first design. What's great about this design is that I used 'Knit Picks' Comfy Sport Yarn. It's 75% Pima Cotton and 25% Acrylic. This makes this 'vest' so soft. I LOVED knitting with it and play to make a lot more patterns from this very reasonably priced yarn. I hope to post the pattern soon. :)
